Burglars have attacked a man with a metal bar in a violent burglary.
The 42-year-old man required stitches to his head after being hit by the burglars when he answered his front door to them in Rosebank Grove, Walthamstow, at about 3pm yesterday.
The three men then walked into the house and went upstairs, waking a 34-year-old woman who had been asleep in her bedroom.
She tried to close the bedroom door to protect herself from the burglars but was pushed backwards by the men, one of whom snatched her necklace and stole silver from her jewellery collection before they left the house.
All three burglars are black, approximately 6ft tall and wore black trousers and black hoodies, with their faces covered so only their eyes showed.
Waltham Forest Police is asking anyone with information about this incident to contact them on 0208 721 5042 or to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
