A seven-year-old boy who wowed judges at a baking competition has taken another step towards his dream kitchen career.
Kye Page who won The Great Waltham Abbey Bake Off was given the chance to spend a few hours with the head chef at Parsons Restaurant, on Saturday.
Leverton Infant School pupil Kye spent two hours assisting kitchen staff and learning what it is really like to be behind the scenes at a busy restaurant.
After making his own dish, Kye said that he would like to get into cooking when he leaves school.
He said: “I had great fun, I loved seeing what happens in a real kitchen. It was great learning how to make cheesecake and even better eating it. I really want to be a chef.”
Head chef Ade Adeshina said: “Kye has a very promising talent and I'm sure you will be seeing more of him and indeed all our talent team over the coming years”.
