A residents group has celebrated the tenth anniversary of taking over and revitalising a community garden.
The Wanstead Society has spent the last decade nurturing the High Street patch - outside the Corner House Alan Burgess Centre - after concerns were previously raised about its "neglected" state.
The anniversary was marked with a photo exhibit of how the garden has evolved over the years and a special cake from nearby cafe Belgique.
The Wanstead Society's Marian Temple said: “We got permission to take it over from Redbridge Council who were really helpful.
"The garden was created with no budget, using volunteer help and plants from our own gardens.
"It’s been such a success making a real difference to this corner of Wanstead and the passers by love it.”
