A man arrested after giving a TV interview about his friendship with one of the men suspected of murdering a soldier remains in police custody.
Abu Nusaybah, 31, who was a member of the radical muslim group Waltham Forest Muslims in 2010, was arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism after speaking to the BBC’s Newsnight programme last Friday.
He had told the programme of his friendship with Michael Adebolajo, 28, who is suspected of killing Drummer Lee Rigby in an attack carried out in Woolwich last week.
Detectives from the Met's Counter Terrorism Command were granted a warrant of further detention at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Sunday which allows them to detain Mr Nusaybah until May 31.
Search warrants were executed at two addresses in east London following his arrest.
