Parents who formed a group to campaign for a better children’s play area are looking for more members.
Mums and dads in Waltham Abbey say the Town Mead play equipment is falling down and does not provide enough for children to do.
They have formed a committee and set up a petition and a Facebook group to support their cause.
Mother-of-three and childminder Angie Schooling, of Roundhills, said: “We want to apply for a bit of funding from big corporations.
“We’ve got more than 700 signatures on the petition and I want to get it to 1,000, so we can show grant-awarding bodies that there is a genuine need there.
“It’s really early days, but hopefully we can get something moving.”
Anyone who wants to get involved can call her on 07944 483879 or attend the next committee meeting at Tesco’s training room on June 25 from 8pm.
