A hospice which has cared for thousands of terminally ill people across the district is appealing for help.
St Clare Hospice is asking drivers to assist them in caring for the community by volunteering to bring patients to and from the Hastingwood site.
Nearly two hundred people saw the benefit of day surgery, last year, something which was made possible by the generosity of car owners who wanted to help.
Volunteer drivers collect the patients from their homes to arrive at St Clare between 10am and 10.30am, and collect them from 3pm to take them home.
They may also be called on to collect patients for out-patient appointments and drive them home afterwards.
