Traffic lights at a busy junction have not been fixed despite five visits to the site by council engineers.
Essex County Council has been trying to fix the signals at the junction of High Road and Theydon Road at Bell Common near Epping since May 22.
A council spokeswoman said: “Due to the complexity of the control equipment and associated cabling, we are still investigating a number of possible causes of the fault.
“Once the cause has been identified, the appropriate repair will be implemented.
“We appreciate motorists’ patience in the meantime and hope to have the traffic signals back up and running as quickly as possible.”
The council plans to visit again tomorrow.
