Four women were rescued by fire-fighters from a flat blaze this morning.
It happened in Ilford High Road at around 2.50am.
The London Fire Brigade says the blaze damaged a hallway and front door of flats located above a shop in the road.
Fire crews helped lead the women to safety when they arrived at the scene.
They were then treated for shock and smoke inhalation by the London Ambulance Service.
A spokesman for the brigade said: "Three fire engines, two from Ilford fire station and one from Barking fire station, went to the scene with fourteen fire-fighters and officers.
"They were called at 2.50am and the fire was under control by 3.37am.
"The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the police."
