A bid to build a three-storey block of flats was rejected at a planning meeting last night.
Developers had wanted to demolish the single storey building at the Lily House site in The Shrubberies, South Woodford, and replace it with a block housing five flats.
But councillors on Redbridge's Regional Planning Committee West rejected the proposals on the grounds that it lacked amenity space.
