Work to install controversial cattle grids on woodland roads is due to begin at the start of next month.
Essex County Council will fit the grids in Rangers Road, Chingford, Cross Roads, Waltham Abbey, Forest Side, Epping and Wake Road, Waltham Abbey from June 3.
The roads are all in Epping Forest and the work forms part of plans by its owners, the City of London Corporation, to increase the number of cattle grazing there.
Horse riders who feared their mounts would be caught in the grids protested against them, but an inspector found after a public enquiry in November 2011 that they should be allowed.
Each road will be closed for about 28 days while work takes place, with Forest Side likely to be the first to shut.
