William Morris Gallery is Museum of the Year 2013
The William Morris Gallery has been crowned winner of the Art Fund's Museum of the Year 2013, securing the £100,000 prize.
The Walthamstow gallery, which reopened in 2012 following major redevelopment, was praised by judges for setting high standards in curatorship and its community outreach.
The £10,000 Clore Award has been awarded to The Hepworth in Wakefield, in recognition of its education programme for children and young people.
The winners were announced by Private Eye editor Ian Hislop this evening (Tuesday) at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
