Police have launched an appeal after a woman was threatened in her own home by burglars.
Two men got into the Ongar house after using a plant pot to smash the glass in the front door, before manhandling the homeowner, in her 30s, and making threats to her safety.
The pair then stole a Chanel watch, a silver Mac Book, an iPad, a Louis Vuitton bag and purse as well as an iPhone from the home off Stanford Rivers Road, before making their escape.
The men were both black and wore hoodies with the drawstring tied tightly across their faces, as well as bandanas.
The incident occurred at about 9.40pm on Friday, April 19, but police have just revealed the details as they appeal for information.
Investigating officer PC Muhammad Asghar said: "This was a particularly nasty incident which would have been terrifying for the woman who was assaulted in her own home.
"I’m hoping someone may have heard the glass in the front door being smashed, which would have caused a considerable amount of noise, or seen someone behaving suspiciously in the area.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Asghar or his colleagues on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
