An pensioner who died after being hit by a van while she was walking her dog has been named.
Emilie Buckner, 78, was struck by a white transit van on Monday morning in Oakwood Hill, Loughton and pronounced dead at the scene.
An inquest is due to open next week.
A 22-year-old man from Loughton was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and being unfit through drink or drugs.
He has been released on police bail until January 27 pending further enquiries.
