A man accused of robbing a child has appeared in court.
Daniel Smith, of Colworth Road in Leytonstone, has been charged with the robbery of a 12-year-old boy following an incident outside Debden Underground Station.
Twenty-three-year-old Smith was ordered to remain in police custody at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
No plea was given.
His arrest came after police made a public appeal when self-taken photographs of a man suspected of being a thief appeared on Twitter.
Smith will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on November 5.
