A group which provides media training for young people is to launch a live chat show in Walthamstow.
Hackney-based Youth Skills Network, which aims to help people not in work or formal training, will host Strait Talk at the Outset Centre in Grange Road next month.
The event will be produced and filmed by young people on the project.
Youth Skills Network founder, Andy Fraser, said Strait Talk will give youngsters a voice in their community and enable them to be heard by key decision makers.
“After the riots young people felt their voices weren’t being heard, so that is why we set this up.
“We are helping them to have a voice and be heard,” he said.
The project was visited by pop star Kimberley Walsh, of Girls Aloud fame, yesterday.
