An opportunity to learn to save lives is being offered to people of all ages.

St John Ambulance Service is now recruiting new volunteers in Epping Forest who will be taught to administer first aid, resuscitate people and use a defibrillator.

Training is completely free and will take place in Epping at St Margaret’s Hospital.

People of any age can volunteer as long as they can drive.

London Paramedic  and volunteer Chris Wood said:"Community First Responders respond to certain high priority 999 calls that happen in their local area.

“Because they live or work nearby they can get to the incident quickly - in most cases before an ambulance arrives, delivering lifesaving treatment before the paramedics get there, and helping the paramedics to treat the patient during the event.”

The three day next course will be held on November 9, 16 and 23. No experience is necessary.
