A senior police officer has revealed his plans to deal with high crime rates in some areas.
Overall reported crime in the district has fallen between April and October, compared to the previous six months.
But Waltham Abbey and Loughton are still suffering about 100 crimes a month, with more burglaries reported in Ongar than anywhere else in the district.
Epping Forest Neighbourhood Inspector, Marc Jordan, has revealed his strategy to tackle the problem.
He said: "I have deployed more officers to Waltham Abbey to increase police presence.
“I have increased patrols around Ongar from our Chigwell and Loughton teams to increase a visible police presence.”
Chairman of the Epping Town Neighbourhood Action Panel, Mike Compton said: “The figures for our area are encouraging but we can’t get complacent. We’re not at zero yet.”
Epping Forest and Brentwood teams will begin Operation Albatross on Monday, which is a week- long push to deter burglaries in the winter months.
