The richest men in Redbridge will live an average of eight years longer than their poorest counterparts, according to a new study.
However, London’s Poverty Profile found women in affluent areas of the borough only live two-and- a-half years longer than their less well-off counterparts.
The research by Trust for London and published today took the top 10 per cent of the wealthiest residents and compared them to the ten per cent poorest using data gathered between 2006 and 2010.
The report also found Redbridge has the highest rate of repossessions affecting landlords.
More 800 rented households received repossession orders between 2010-2011, putting tenants more at risk of being suddenly evicted or made homeless.
It was also revealed that nearly 50% of primary schools in Redbridge have no places available or have more children than places, compared to 17% in the rest of London.
Redbridge was also revealed to have low levels of premature death and underage pregnancy, as well as good performance across schools.
