A pub could be turned into shops and a six-storey residential complex.

CK Property Investments (Loughton) last week submitted a planning application to Epping Forest District Council asking for permission to knock down the Sir Winston Churchill pub in Debden and develop the site, as well as adjoining land in The Broadway.

The firm hopes to build a mixed-use development, including shops on the ground floor and 64 flats on the first to sixth floors.

The site would also have 64 car parking spaces.

Comments can be made on the application until November 12.
