A new bridge which attracted opposition from green campaigners will be officially unveiled on Friday.
The bridge, at the Marsh Lane entrance to the newly-named Leyton Jubilee Park, is part of a £2million improvement scheme.
The Save Leyton Marsh group expressed concern that the wider bridge would attract larger, heavier vehicles and have a negative impact on the environment and park users.
The council insist the work will improve public access and traffic would be restricted.
New play equipment and facilities for Eton Manor Athletics Cub are also set to be unveiled at park in Seymour Road between 1pm and 6pm.
