A veterinary surgery is asking people to walk retired racing dogs and raise money for their future.
Medivet in Waltham Abbey has teamed up with Whittingham Kennels to organise a sponsored Greyhound walk.
On November 3 people of all ages are asked to join the event at Galley Hill kennel on the outskirts of Waltham Abbey from 1pm.
All funds raised will go towards the care of the homeless dogs.
Johanna Beumer MBE, who owns Whittingham Kennels has been homing greyhounds for over 40 years.
She said: "Greyhounds are wonderful animals.
“They are lazy, gentle, loving and great with children; there is no comparison with their previous life as racers as they really are 40mph couch potatoes.”
There will be a small charge to take part.
