A new 'baby bank' offering vital support to struggling parents has received its latest donation.
The service, based at Lloyd Park Children’s Centre in Walthamstow, opened at the beginning of October and is the first of its kind in the borough.
It offers advice and equipment to parents with young children who are struggling financially.
The Busy Bees nursery, in Sutton Road, Walthamstow, today donated new and second-hand toys and educational aids to the baby bank.
This follows donations from from Ikea in Edmonton, Edufantastic in Orford Road, Walthamstow, and the Walthamstow branch of Asda.
Ann-Marie Lashley, 35, deputy manager at the Just Learning nursery, said: "We are pleased to now be making links with the local community.
"It is positive for parents whose children attend the nursery that didn't know about the services now do, and where to get help".
Lisa Hayde, 31, a family outreach support officer at the centre, said she was grateful for the support.
"Thank you to the parents and staff at the nursery. It's great to support a local service and we look forward to working with the nursery in the future," she said.
