A man has been charged with attacking a police officer after allegedly being caught drink-driving.
Tex Baker, 27, of Kingsland in Harlow, is accused of wounding with intent, a public order offence and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
He is said to have bitten and head-butted a police officer who tried to arrest him on suspicion of drink-driving on Sunday.
Baker is then accused of using the officer’s baton to attack him during the incident at the junction of Sewardstone Road and Lea Valley Road in Chingford.
He is due to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on October 28.
