Children from a Walthamstow performance school began rehearsals today for a pantomime at Hackney’s Empire theatre.
Vestry School of Dance and Performing Arts has sent 20 children between the ages of six and 16 from its Church Hill studio to join the rest of the cast in preparing for the run of Puss in Boots performances.
The show follows the adventures of swashbuckling Puss in Boots in the merry kingdom of Hackneyonia E8.
The children will dance, sing and act alongside a professional adult cast.
School director Lyndsey Ward said: “It’s a huge privilege because it’s one of the best pantos in the country and they’re only using children from Vestry.”
The show runs from November 23 until January 5.
