People are being urged to cancel private fireworks displays during a Firefighters' strike on Friday.
London Fire Brigade has warned engines may not be sent to non-urgent and incidents with no threat to life.
Engines will not be sent out to grass or outdoor fires, rubbish fires, animal rescues, people trapped in lifts or automatic fire alarms.
A 999 call will have to be received before a fire engine is sent out.
CapitalGuard will be providing a reduced level of emergency cover during the strikes, with 27 fire engines working across London.
The strikes come after a long-running row with the government over changes to pensions.
