More than a quarter of council tenants are unhappy with the way repairs are carried out, a survey has found.

The research was carried out at a conference for people living in homes managed by Ascham Homes on behalf of Waltham Forest Council.

A poll of 100 tenants found 27 per cent believed repairs were not carried out satisfactorily during the first visit, while one in five called for the organisation's phones to be answered quicker.

Ascham Homes has vowed to use the feedback when finalising plans for next year.
