Firefighters will go on strike this evening from 6.30pm until 11pm and for two hours on Monday.
Members of the Fire Brigades Union will walk off the job in an ongoing row with the government over pensions.
The strike, called ahead of Bonfire Night, Diwali celebrations and during half term, means the London Fire Brigade has suggested people cancel amateur fireworks displays during strike hours and instead attend professional displays.
The brigade will have a contingency fire and rescue service in place during the strike.
They say serious incidents will be attended but smaller incidents will go unanswered.
