Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses after a "prolonged attack" on a man at a house party.
A 25-year-old man is still receiving hospital treatment and may lose the full use of his left hand after he was attacked in Roydon, near Harlow, in September.
The man from Harlow was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with a fractured arm and finger as well as cuts to his face and head.
An 18-year-old man from Harlow also received hospital treatment for facial injuries and a 23-year-old man from the same area suffered bruises to the face.
Investigating officer James Smith said: "This assault was a prolonged attack by a group of people who kept on hitting the victim with a weapon despite him being on the floor and offering no resistance.”
