Work at the site of a major scaffolding collapse has resumed today.
Around 100 yards of scaffolding fell away from shop fronts and on to the pavement in Francis Road, Leyton, just before 7am last Monday last week as strong winds buffeted London.
Falling materials were strewn across the road and pavement, causing extensive damage to cars.
Nobody was injured.
Work is being carried out by council contractors to refurbish shop fronts in the street.
A council spokesman said despite lost time due to the collapse, work is likely to be kept on schedule for completion in January.
Contractor Dragon Scaffolding declined to comment.
The Health and Safety Executive is not looking into the incident.
