Toy making in Waltham Forest is the subject of a new exhibition.
Toys: A Serious Business opened at Vestry House Museum in Vestry Road, Walthamstow, last month and explores the history of the industry in the borough.
Operating in the area around 80 years ago, the industry saw companies including Wells Brimtoy and Tower Press based in the borough.
Museum curators hope to show today’s children how toys of yesteryear engaged the imagination in different ways.
Running until February 24, the hands-on and child-friendly exhibition includes tin-plate toys, toy soldiers and animals, as well as photographs and memorabilia.
Children can also try some traditional games in a specially designated play area.
Check opening times ahead of visiting. The exhibition is free.
