More people than ever before showed up to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display to mark Guy Fawkes Night.
A record 16,000 revellers also enjoyed fairground rides and a laser show before the main show of fireworks set to a 'best of British' soundtrack at 8pm in Chestnut Field, Walthamstow.
Even though gates were kept open for an extra 20 minutes after the scheduled last entry time of 7.45pm some people were forced to watch the free display from outside as the gates eventually had to be shut for health and safety reasons.
