A total of nine parks are still closed after strong winds last week caused extensive tree damage across Redbridge.
Parks in Ilford are still the most heavily affected with damage being investigated by the council in Goodmayes Park, Loxford Park, South Park, Valentines Park and Westwood recreation ground.
Redhouse play area in Wanstead, Redbridge recreation ground, Hainault Forest Country Park and Grove Road gardens in Chadwell Heath are also still undergoing investigation.
A spokesman from the council said: "The safety of our park users is of paramount importance to us. A visual tree assessment is carried out by council’s qualified Arboriculturalists. Any emergency works needed are then carried out by one of the council’s contracted tree companies.
"Tree works started in parks last week, immediately following the storm. It is anticipated that the majority of emergency tree works will be completed within the parks by the end of the week."
Last Monday strong winds reached speeds approaching 50mph, causing damage across the borough.
