A threatened youth centre will continue operating on a deprived estate after a petition helped secure funding.
The club offers a range of activities and support for young people living on the Priory Estate in Walthamstow and is run by Circle 33 housing association.
An appeal for cash to the William Morris Ward Forum to keep the service open was backed by a petition signed by 167 people, including 72 young people.
The housing association was yesterday awarded £9,000 and will now continue to provide workshops and activities including sports and computer games sessions, as well as sexual health advice.
The club caters for those aged 10 to 16 and is held on Tuesdays, from 6pm to 8.30pm.
