A man was rushed to hospital after a fire in a hotel.
Firefighters were called at 4.57pm yesterday to reports of people inside a burning building in Grove Road, Walthastow, on the junction with Beulah Road.
A man was rescued from the three-storey house, which the Fire Brigade said had been converted into a hotel, and taken by ambulance to Whipps Cross Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said he was taken "as a priority".
A second person was treated at the scene and also taken to Whipps Cross by ambulance in a less serious condition.
No further information on this person's condition is available.
