A student was runner-up in a field of 90,000 applicants at a motoring industry awards ceremony.
Kevin Rooney-Kaymakci was chosen, after an inspection of his portfolio of work, from entrants representing 550 different centres worldwide at the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) awards.
The 19-year-old Waltham Forest College student is currently studying IMI’s level three diploma in motorcycle maintenance and repair principles.
After beginning the course at level one Kevin has been moved up ahead of schedule twice because of the quality of his work.
Messias Sesifredo, Kevin's tutor who nominated him for the award, said Kevin is enthusiastic and regularly goes over and above what is required of him, particularly because he regularly carries out individual further research for tasks.
Kevin said he was extremely proud to have been recognised for his work ahead of so many others.
