Thames Water price hike blocked
A government regulator has blocked a potential Thames Water price hike.
Ofwat published the result today, confirming that an 8 per cent rise for 2014-15, amounting to £29 extra per year would not be added to customers’ bills.
The water provider can set prices at 1.4 per cent higher than inflation, a figure set in a 2009 price review.
Thames Water can appeal the decision.
