Firefighters are investigating the cause of a blaze which caused extensive damage to a barn overnight.
Two fire engines were sent to the metal structure in Aimes Green, Waltham Abbey, shortly after 1.30am.
Half of the 20 metre by 10 metre barn was on fire when crews arrived and two more crews were called in as backup.
An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said firefighters worked quickly to "protect a number of surrounding risks”.
There are no reports of any injuries.
