A security firm is inviting the public to view its plans to convert a former cinema into its new headquarters.
Total Security Services (TSS) and Loughton-based architecture firm, Clear Architects, have invited the public to the event on April 16, between 4pm and 7pm, at the foyer to The Regal in Hale End, Highams Park.
The Highams-Park based security firm plans to demolish the boarded-up former Shelz restaurant, adjacent to The Regal, and erect a four-storey office space, as well as restore the original facade of The Regal.
Managing director Ricky Gardezi applied for permission in November 2013 to create access to both buildings, while using the exisiting frontage of The Regal as the main entrance to the firm's new headquarters.
However, the plans were withdrawn following advice from council planners that the designs were unsuitable for the location.
Local businesses have welcomed plans to demolish the vacant restaurant and convert the Regal to bring the empty buildings back into use and boost the economy.
According to the council, pre-application talks have now ended and TSS are in a position to re-submit the plans following the public event later this month.
