A pair of teenage footballers have contributed to a championship winning county team.
Roding Valley High School students Conor Tyrell and Harry Francis helped the Essex Schools Under 14s football team beat their Sussex counterparts 3-1 in the PlayStation English Schools FA Under 14s Inter-County Trophy Final.
With their appearance in the final on May 21 the year nine pupils also won their first county caps, which are awarded to players after 10 appearances.
Headteacher Paul Banks said: “The school is incredibly proud of Conor and Harry's achievements.
“They are two exceptionally talented footballers who have represented the school with honour in being capped for their county.
“The success of the team is a very special achievement and the boys should be commended for their role in the team.”
Both students also play for Brentford FC outside of school.
