A body found in the woods was a 30-year-old woman from Chingford, it has been confirmed.

Police were called to Larkswood Playing in Chingford on Sunday (July 5) at 7.30pm after receiving a call from London Ambulance Service to say a woman had collapsed in the wooded area.

Police taped off access to the playing field and forest in Normanshire Drive, Inks Green and Ropers Avenue.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard, said: "The death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Next of kin have been informed.

"A report will be compiled for the coroner."

A post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death was carried out yesterday, but the result will not be released publicly as there will not be an inquest into her death.

Walthamstow Coroner's officer, Steve Hamilton, said: "The woman was from the E4 area.

"There will not be an inquest into her death as it is suspected her death was due to natural causes."

The woman was brought out on a stretcher by an opening to the forest in Inks Green, late on Sunday evening.

Bailey Close resident, Vera Harrison, 72, lives by the playing fields.

She said: "From around 7pm I saw blue flashing lights through my window.

"I looked out and saw an ambulance, it was sat there for ages and didn't leave until around 9.30pm.

"It is very sad for anyone to die in those circumstances."
