A man is in a critical condition after being stabbed in Leytonstone.
The victim, in his 20s or late teens, is now fighting for his life in hospital following an incident in the High Road, at around 3.30pm.
Officers were called to the scene along with paramedics.
According to reports the male victim was stabbed near to the Plough and Harrow Pub and a shop on the corner of Ranelagh Road was damaged inside.
London Ambulance Service said the victim was suffering from wounds to his arm and leg.
Officers from the air ambulance crew attended the scene.
The High Road has been completely cordoned off and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
Blood and clothing can be seen in the doorway of the Express store and the pavement on the right hand side of the road has been closed by police.
Inside the Sikder Superstore there is a number of items spilled across the floor.
There has been no arrest at this stage.
