Pupils celebrated the Queen becoming the country’s longest reigning monarch yesterday (September 9) with a day of festivities.
Children dressed in red, white and blue, and learned all about Queen Elizabeth II at Avanti Court Primary School, in Carlton Drive, Barkingside.
The 89-year-old surpassed the 64-year reign of her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria.
The national anthem was sung by the whole school on the playground around 2.30pm, and a Queen Elizabeth II portrait competition took place.
