TWO people have died after an aircraft crashed into a field in Chigwell.
Police have confirmed they believe two were onboard the light aircraft which came down shortly before 10.20am this morning.
Emergency services are on scene close to Gravel Lane and the area is cordoned off.
There are various road closures in the local area affecting Abridge Road at the junction with Gravel Lane, Millers Lane, Lambourne Road and Pudding Lane.
A police spokesman said: “We now believe there to have been two people on board the light aircraft which crashed in the field off Gravel Lane in Chigwell.
“Sadly they both died.
“The aircraft is believed to be an eight seater Beechcraft King Air 200.”
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service reported the entire aircraft was alight in the field, shortly after 10.20am.
