Children and staff got messy for a good cause last week as they helped raise around £100 for charity.
Group leader Alex Hurd made perhaps the biggest sacrifice for Children in Need at the Kids Inc. nursery on Friday (November 13), as she was doused in cold custard to encourage donations.
Other activities at the Loughton centre included a cake sale, face painting and make-your-own Pudsey Bears, with children getting to dress up in their pajamas.
Organiser Charlotte Barton said the nursery is holding another fundraising day today to increase its total.
The custard throwing was a clear favourite on Friday, she said.
“They loved it, they were so excited.
“They never get the chance to be so messy and they just found it so exciting.”
Nationwide, the annual appeal raised a record-breaking £37,100,687.
