Couples soon have the chance to tie the knot at Waltham Abbey Town Hall, when it launches as a community wedding venue next week.
Essex County Council has established nine new venues, in a bid to offer the county’s couples “affordable” settings for their big day.
The ceremony room at the town hall is available for wedding or civil partnership ceremonies from April 1. Almost 300 weddings have already been booked at the council’s new venues.
Cllr Anne Brown, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Corporate, Communities and Customers, said: “It is really pleasing to see couples embracing our new venues.
“These high-quality locations will offer couples an affordable option for wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships in Essex.
“We have entered into agreements with venue operators to ensure residents are offered the highest level of service on their special day at the best price.”
Other new venues announced as part of the scheme include Brentwood Town Hall, Essex Records Office in Chelmsford and Moot House in Harlow.
