Ulla’s Odyssey

14-year-old Ulla is attempting to become the youngest person to sail the world single-handedly. All is not plain sailing, as she encounters mythical creatures and obstacles on her journey. This new opera is an enchanting nautical fantasy by New Zealand composer Anthony Young and Canadian librettist Leanna Brodie.

Britten Sinfonia/Mahan Esfahani

Offenbach – Orpheus in the Underworld

This irreverent satire was unleashed on Parisian audiences in 1858 to a combination of shock and delight. Its many memorable set-pieces include the risqué Galop Infernal, better known as the ‘can-can’.

Fare Healthy

This healthy eating festival includes a full line up of inspiring faces telling their stories and discussing certain topics. There will also be Fare Healthy Cooks, a large demo kitchen featuring some favourite chefs and personalities. Then there are two ‘Have a Go’ areas, where you can take part in a number of workshops throughout the day. There is also a Kids Zone, Nutritionists’ Café, a book shop with singings all day and, of course, food, drink and shopping every direction you look. Singin’ in the Rain

Sheer Pleasure

An exhibition of important Japanese paintings, prints, furniture and ceramics belonging to the personal collection of the Gallery’s founder Frank Brangwyn RA.
