A FIRE station is opening its doors for the day to spread its important safety message.
Firefighters at Chingford Fire Station, The Ridgeway, will be welcoming visitors from 11am to 4pm on Thursday (August 31).
Visitors will be able to sit in the fire engines and see the different vehicles and equipment used to fight fires.
There will also be a chance to try on some fire kit.
Firefighters will be giving fire safety advice, fitting smoke alarms for free and showing the importance of knowing what to do in the event of a blaze in your home.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Fire station open days are a fun, family day out.
“You can meet your local crews and find out more about the day to day work they carry out in your local community and have fun looking at all the equipment and sitting in the fire engines.
“There’s also a chance to learn more about the fire safety work we do, which is important for everyone to be aware of."
