A TEENAGER inspired by Children in Need raised more than £1,700 on a 17-mile walk.
Jessica Preston single-handedly organised a marathon journey from her home in Barkingside to the London Eye.
She was inspired to do her bit after watching 2017’s Children in Need.
Jessica, who is 13, planned the route to include snack breaks and toilet stops. She also sourced and designed t-shirts.
Friends and family joined in too, securing their own sponsorship and raising extra donations.
Her scout group, 1st Hainault, Kantor King Solomon School, which she attends, and both her parents’ work places backed the walk.
Participants armed with collection tins left Barkingside at 10am on Sunday, March 25, reaching the London Eye at 5pm.
Jessica says: “It was such a special day. I’m so pleased to have raised this money for a special cause that really touched me when I watched it last year."
