A McDonald’s restaurant was temporarily closed after up to 50 youths gathered inside and set off fireworks.
One man who works at the fast-food joint in Hoe Street, Walthamstow, described scenes of “chaos” as teenagers ran behind the counters into the kitchen to escape the fireworks.
A spokesman for the Met said: “Police were called at approximately 5.15pm on Thursday, November 1, to Hoe Street, E17 following reports of youths setting off fireworks at a fast food restaurant.
“Officers attended but the youths left prior to arrival.
“No injuries were reported.
“There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.”
The restaurant remained closed for two hours while the incident was dealt with. McDonald's has been contacted for comment.
It came just one day after police were called to the corner of Hoe Street and Granville Road to reports of youths throwing fireworks at vehicles.
There were no injuries reported and no arrests have been made.
