There will be a grand reopening at the Mall after a fire damaged part of the shopping centre.
A fire took hold of part of the roof of the two-storey building in Selborne Road, Walthamstow on July 22.
It took 125 firefighters more than four hours to tackle the blaze. No one was injured.
The majority of the shopping centre has been reopened for business since yesterday (September 4) and the owner, Capital and Regional, has announced an official reopening event for the community on Saturday (September 7).
However, a small number of shops most affected by the fire will remain closed and are being kept informed of progress as those areas are being rebuilt, Capital and Regional said.
Lawrence Hutchings, chief executive at Capital and Regional, said: “We continue to be appreciative of the cooperation and understanding shown by our retail occupiers and the wider Waltham Forest community throughout what has been a difficult time.”
Rebecca Bird, general manager, added: “We are excited to be back serving the community of Walthamstow, who have been incredibly supportive throughout. We’d like to invite all local residents to join us on Saturday for a celebration, with events starting at 10am, and our grand reopening at 11am.”
